THE CIVICS TEST FOR NATURALIZATION
What is the purpose of the Civics Test?
An applicant's familiarity with the basics of American
history and governance is evaluated through the civics test for naturalization.
What to learn?
There will be 128 official questions covering American
history, governance, and integrated civics, including geography and symbols, on
the Naturalization Civics Test.
What are the requirements?
There will be questions from an officer during the oral
exam. A minimum of 12 out of 20 questions must be answered accurately by the
applicant.
Is there any chance to retake the test?
The naturalization interview includes two chances for
applicants to pass the test.
